Run Miles That Make Memories

Run Miles That Make Memories

I went for my first trail run this past weekend after an invite from some running club friends. Dude showed up to pick me up with a Jeep with stickers all over it, so I knew I was in for an adventure. It was National Cave Week, so we drove up to Mammoth Cave National Park to run a 10 mile trail. I bought new trail shoes and was ready to go.

Upon our arrival, we learned the bridge was out. So what happened? The dude with the stickers all over his Jeep convinced us to wade across the river with our running gear held above our heads. Totally the right move instead of a 45 minute drive around the park to get across the stream.

Spending time with these dudes in the 90 minute drive to this destination run, time on the trail and swimming afterwards in the Green River after a hot 10 mile run was so good. Here’s to running more miles that make memories. And here’s to the next run…
